In 2012, the Orange County Breakers celebrated their 10th anniversary season in Mylan World TeamTennis presented by GEICO. The Breakers, led by coach Trevor Kronemann, competed in the Western Conference and played their home matches at their new venue, the Bren Events Center on the campus of the University of California-Irvine. The Breakers made it to the WTT Finals Weekend as the #1 seed in the Western Conference, though fell to their in-state rivals the Sacramento Capitals in the Western Conference Final. The Breakers JP Smith was named the WTT Male Rookie of the Year.
